YSABEL ZAMORA

Ysabel Maria J. Zamora, better known as Bel Zamora, is the incumbent Representative of San Juan City’s Lone District.

She got 64.52 percent or 49,334 votes in the 2022 polls, defeating her lone opponent in the congressional race in San Juan. Rep. Zamora ran on a campaign to improve deserving students’ access to quality education; provide support to children in conflict with the law (CICL) and children at risk (CAR) through the “Bahay Pag-asa” sanctuary for restorative justice; support single parents with financial and other kinds of assistance; and increase funding for special education (SPED) schools, among others.

In Congress, Rep. Ysabel Zamora supported measures to standardize and upgrade benefits for military veterans and their dependents. She is also actively seeking additional protection for women and their children from violence through the “Expanded Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (E-VAWC)” bill.

Moreover, Rep. Zamora backed the passage of the law by creating the Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF), which is the country’s first sovereign wealth fund that aims to attract foreign investments and finance infrastructure development across the Philippines.

Prior to her congressional stint, Rep. Ysabel Zamora worked as a partner for the Zamora Poblador Law Office, practicing civil and family law, corporate law, and criminal law. She also had direct exposure to constituent work, having previously served as Congressional District Office Head of former Rep. Ronaldo Zamora. She handled financial and medical assistance programs of the district office, and ensured proper implementation of projects through coordination with various government agencies.

Rep. Zamora received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of the Philippines. She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2009, and immediately entered the law profession.

Rep. Ysabel Zamora is the sister of the current San Juan City Mayor Francisco “Francis” Zamora and Taguig City Second District Rep. Amparo “Pammy” Zamora. Her father is former San Juan City Lone District Rep. Ronaldo “Ronny” Zamora.
