ROSEMARIE PANOTES

Being the unica hija in a family of public servants and compelled to continue the legacy of her parents, Rosemarie Conejos Panotes successfully ran for the position of Representative for the Second District of Camarines Norte in the 2022 national polls.

Her previous experience as Chief Political Affairs Officer of her late mother also provided her with considerable exposure to law and policy making, all for the welfare of her constituents.

Rep. Panotes is the daughter of the late Elmer Panotes, Daet mayor from 1992 to 2001 and 2004 to 2007, and Camarines Norte Second District Representative from 2010 to 2015; and the late Marisol Panotes, who served as Representative also for the Second District from 2016 until her death in 2022.

Since being elected in 2022, she has authored several bills, many of which are focused on assisting economically marginalized people. One of her most well-known legislation she pushed is giving the legislative bodies of municipalities and cities outside Metro Manila the power to designate tricycle lanes on public roads or highways. The policy aims to safeguard the safety of tricycle drivers and passengers alike, and reduce the likelihood of road accidents caused by the lack of designated lanes for three-wheeled vehicles.

In the House of Representatives, Rep. Panotes serves as the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Basic Education and Culture as well as the Committee on Labor and Employment.
