COCO NAIK Mohamad Ali “Coco” Naik learned at an early age the skills of being a good leader and disciplinarian. As the eldest child, he developed exceptional communication skills effectively convey commands and information, which was honed in his adult days through his experiences in government service and exposure to modelling and show business. Having been born from a mixed culture and spiritual faith, his father being a Muslim Maranao and his mother a Christian Mindanaoan, helped him acquire deep understanding of the struggles of the Muslims and Christians alike and improved his flexibility. His father is a retired policeman and his mother is a social worker and a house wife. During his teenage days, he was elected Sangguniang Kabataan Kagawad in Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur and served the youth in their community. Serving two former Senate Presidents, – Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel, Jr. and Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel 3rd – allowed him to gain extensive experience in terms of good governance and public service. Furthermore, his experience as a social development officer in Makati City and as a Political Officer in the Office of Senators Pimentel, where he was assigned to handle social services for a total of six years, taught him that direct service to people changes lives. His competence in this work attributed to his promotion until he served as special assistant and aide de camp of Senator Nene Pimentel and political officer of Senator Koko Pimentel. He also travelled speak with Filipino communities and leaders in countries like Germany, Japan, France, Australia, Italy, the United States, Canada, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Qatar, Hongkong, Singapore, China and Thailand. In 2019, he joined and was elected as the Vice Chairman for Political Affairs of the AKO OFW or Advocates & Keepers Organization of Overseas Filipino Workers, Inc. He helped in the expansion of its membership as well as in spreading the advocacies of the organization. He has assisted as well numerous OFWs who met some misfortunes in their respective countries of destination. As an enhancement to his advocacies, he joined the teleradyo industry and became a co-host of the radio program UP UP Pilipinas (Usapang Pangkapayapaan, Usapang Pangkaunlaran) – Usapang OFW Segment by the DWDD 1134 KHz, the radio station of the Armed Forces of the Philippines since February 2021. In the 2022 elections, he was nominated as 2nd nominee of the AKO OFW Partylist. Loyalty to God, country and people are virtues he is noteworthy for.
