CARLOS JERICHO PETILLA

Carlos Jericho “Icot” Petilla is the Governor of Leyte province, and also served in the same position from 2004 to 2012. 

He served as a Secretary of the Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines from 2012 to 2015.  

Prior to his entry into the public service, he was actively involved in a private corporation, which he co-founded and has now grown into a 25-year-old company with over 4,000 employees. This company is engaged in Business Process Outsourcing and Knowledge Process Outsourcing with geographic reach in the Philippines, United States, Canada and Europe. 

He is a graduate of Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University. After graduating in college, he briefly taught Information Technology and Computer Programming in Ateneo and thereafter worked as a Consultant/Programmer in various multinational IT companies. 

Born and raised in the province of Leyte, he comes from a family of public servants. He is the son of former Leyte governors Leopoldo E. Petilla and incumbent Palo Mayor Remedios L. Petilla. His brother Dominic L. Petilla is also a former governor of Leyte. 

He is married to Frances Anne Basillo-Petilla of Cebu and blessed with five children.
