ASTRA PIMENTEL-NAIK

A distinguished public servant, Ms. Astravel Pimentel–Naik, is an individual with an exceptional communication skill, an advantage that helped her establish relationships with people from different walks of life.  

She rose from the ranks, starting her government service as a front desk officer in the Office of former Senate President Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr. She was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO), a position she held from August 2016 to February 2018. In February 2018, she was given another designation as the Executive Director of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO). Her recent appointment was with the Department of Energy as Undersecretary.  

She is currently the head of the Membership Committee of PDP Laban. In the 2022 polls, Ms. Pimentel-Naik was fielded by PDP Laban in the senatorial race. 

Born the youngest to a big family, she learned at an early age the skills of being an excellent listener and communicator, which helped her effectively convey information that garnered her various oratorical and acting awards. It also allowed her to be flexible and do multi-tasking while maintaining the gift of inspiring others and mitigating conflict situations.  

With both parents as public servants, they taught her, more than anything else, that love and service to one’s country is a noble career.  

Her leadership and analytical skills were honed through time, as she involved herself with various community activities, civic organizations, and political endeavors. She is also an experienced trainer and speaker in different seminars and fora.
